AC/DC CBD Strain Review
CBD Strains have came a long way from Charlotte’s Web and industrial hemp, and there are now dozens if not hundreds of choices for CBD-dominant strains, and AC/DC is one of the most popular CBD strains out there for both use and breeding. AC/DC is a popular choice for breeding companies out there looking to cross a new high CBD/low THC strain and it is a parent of lots of other CBD-dominant strains.
AC/DC Strain Lineage
AC/DC is a cross between a strain I have review on this site before called Cattatonic and Ruderalis. AC/DC has an exceptionally high 20:1 average CBD to THC ratio and that is what has made it a favorite for both consumers and breeders alike!
AC/DC Strain Average CBD and THC Levels
AC/DC is known to test as high as 24 percent CBD, but it is usually somewhere between 16-24 CBD. AC/DC also contains somewhere between 2-6 percent THC meaning that it can be a great option for those in medical marijuana states, but it won’t be legal for all 50 states since the THC level is above 0.3 percent.
AC/DC Strain Terpene and Flavor Profile
This strain is known to test high in b-pinene, b-caryophyllene, and a-pinene. Pinene is the straight pine aroma that you get from some strains of cannabis while the b-caryophyllene is the main stinky term in cannabis that gives it that danky gas smell. The mixture of these terpenes together is heavenly and reminds me of smoking high grade Colorado recreational cannabis in the middle of a pine tree patch on the side of a mountain. The smell and taste is a bit reminiscent of the popular strain OG Kush.
AC/DC Strain Effects
AC/DC is a pleasure to smoke with a lemony, piney, and gassy flavor and the effects are as pleasing as the consumption. A wave of relaxation started to course throughout my body after just a few puffs and I could definitely feel myself falling into a deep relaxing state. The high content of CBD paired with an ample amount of THC hits me just right and while the THC definitely adds to the effects, the high CBD levels help tone the THC down. My stomach was definitely settled and ready for some food after using AC/DC and my normal acid reflux wasn’t a problem for me for the rest of the day. Any minor pains that I had vanished and my right knee that gives me a bit of trouble sometime felt brand new. The effects were certainly strong but not overpowering and I felt like I had a lot of energy to get things done. I also had a very good night’s sleep the night after using AC/DC as well, and having CBD (or THC/or both) really helps me to get a good night’s rest.
There is a reason why this strain is used in so many other CBD-dominant crosses out there and that’s because of the fact that it packs a punch of awesome flavor/smell with amazing effects and high CBD levels. The only reason this strain a lot more popular is due to the fact that it almost always has over 0.3 percent THC which means it isn’t legal in all 50 states. The breeding companies definitely took full advantage of this strain by using it to breed other new CBD dominant strains that actually do have under 0.3 percent THC, and there will be many future strains that comes from AC/DC or a descendant of AC/DC down the line.
